Berkshire Bach presents a very special event which takes us to the heart of the genius of Johann Sebastian Bach. This will be a concert with two of the most popular pieces that Bach ever wrote: The “Wedding” Cantata and the Orchestral Suite No. 3. But it will be a concert with a difference! In the first half of the program, the two pieces will be explained to us by our guest lecturer, the extremely popular Professor Jeremy Yudkin. Illustrations and examples for his explanations will be played by the orchestra and soloists. Then in the second half, the works will be played all the way through, without interruption. This is our chance to hear a Bach expert answer the question, “How Does Bach Do It?” and explain what makes the music of Bach so special. The performers are also internationally-known experts in the performance of Bach. You will hear both of these pieces played as you have never heard them before! And, most likely, you will learn more about Bach than you have ever known before. Don’t miss this special event on April 28th at the spectacular, newly renovated Allen Theatre at the Berkshire School, 5 minutes south of Egremont.
