THE BBS Outreach Program

The Berkshire Bach Society’s Outreach Program provides opportunities for local Berkshire high school musicians to learn and perform baroque music. An outreach program can include a concert at Ozawa Hall as well as coaching by musicians associated with the Berkshire Bach Society. Other services offered by the Society have included buying music and providing class lessons for violinists and cellists for technical improvement in baroque playing.

For 2005 the featured schools were Taconic High School and Pittsfield High School, whose combined choruses and the Pittsfield Schools Chamber Orchestra performed music of J. S. Bach and others on June 1, 2005. Music teachers Paula Nuss, Gaylen Rabuse and Alla Zernitskaya shared in conducting this concert.
