Simone Dinnerstein, piano
|
|
The Berkshire Bach Society once again demonstrates that JS Bach is an inexhaustible figure about whom we never cease to discover new perspectives. Performing on the modern grand piano, Simone Dinnerstein offers a thoughtful program that presents Bach as seen through several different lenses: the sociable domestic musician (and parent of musicians), the great and learned teacher, the performing virtuoso, and the inspiration for composers of subsequent generations. Ms. Dinnerstein is known for her colorful, intelligent, and deeply felt performances of a wide range of piano literature. Both her recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations and her second solo album, “The Berlin Concert,” topped the Billboard Classical Chart in their first weeks on sale. “The Berlin Concert” includes two works (Bach’s French Suite No. 5 and a piece inspired by Bach written by American composer Philip Lasser) that Ms. Dinnerstein will perform on this concert. |
